Information
To all coaches, administrators and support staff,
This club, the players, the parents and the Executive Board thanks you for your time and effort. We understand the commitment you all have made to rugby and to the development and success of this club.
The enactment of the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017, that was signed into law on February 14, 2018 and became effective immediately, means that there are new rules in effect in all sports that have a national governing body or are under the umbrella of the Olympic Committee. The Safe Sport Act means that all persons coming in contact with any player in a supervisory role has to have completed the Safe Sport education program and registered with USA Rugby.
1) Safe Sport Modules, these have to be done every 2 years, because of the enactment this year everyone has to do them:
i) To get an overview of Safe Sport: http://usarugbysafesport.com/
ii) To do the modules (3 units): https://education.usarugby.org/safesport/
All volunteers must do the Safe Sport modules!!
It is currently understood that once you complete the modules, USARugby gets automatically notified and then the background search gets completed once you pay the 2022-2023 fees.
If your role is Administration, USA rugby has developed this program to understand the processes associated with our obligations: https://education.usarugby.org/courses/administration-course-1001-registration-and-overview/
All volunteers who want to coach must be at least USA Rugby Level 100 registered. This Registration runs from September 1 to August 31 each year.
We are a volunteer organization and that means we may do things slowly but we are steadily developing a strong base in preparation of program expansion within the schools and throughout the state.
